Puno borders Lake Titicaca the highest navigable lake in the world, the celebrations of the Feast of the “Virgen de la Candelaria” and the Regional Competition of Autochthonous Dances. Many homes in Puno, much like surrounding cities, are half-finished. This is done so that the inhabitants do not have to pay taxes.Much of the city economy relies on the black market, fueled by cheap goods smuggled in from Bolivia.Puno is known as the “Capital folklórica del Perú” .Puno is an important agricultural and livestock region for llamas, vicuñas and alpacas.
I hope that helps

The obvious one is Lake Titicaca, highest navigable lake in the world. But also Puno, known as the Collao region, is part of what used to be the Tiahuanacu culture. The tiahuanacu spanned all over west Bolivia and Puno and they predate the Incas. Close to Umayo lake you can find the “Chullpas” built by the Collas (as the tiahuanacu were known to the Incas). You can also find Inca ruins in the islands on the lake, like the Sun Island (Isla del Sol) or visit the Uros tribe in their floating islands. The Uros weave reed islands on the lake and live on them their entire life.
