Question by baiby: is baby food readily available in brazil?
Hi!
I will be travelling to Brazil with a 7-month old baby next March and staying in Buzios for 10 days. Does anybody know whether baby food and milk is readily available there? Or should I take milk and baby pots from home with me? Thanks!

For God’s sake, of course there’s baby food here, Brazil is not the hell as the people say or think.
Buzios is a rich place, you can find anything there, specially in Rio and São Paulo.
Anyway, if you need any help you can contact me

Honey, we have the same babyGerber pots you find in the US. Tons of fun flavors as well.
And of course, there is tons of fresh fruit — just don’t make the mistake of eating a ton of it at once because some of it can cause your stool to get quite lose if eaten in great quantities.
Back to baby products — Nestle has a stronghold in Brazil — you will be surprised at all the different products you will find there which you can’t find in the US. Nestle makes a HUGE variety of different kinds of baby milk, and they are all very, very safe — believe it or not, they have a much better variety than in the US.
Also, Nestle makes the BEST chocolate.
Since you will be in Buzios, and I love chocolate, eat a “Sonho De Valsa” for me, will you? It’s not Nestle — it’s Lacta, ooooo so good.

Here in Brazil we have several marks of ready food for babies the more consumed are the one of Nestlé have a great variety of oatmeals, of rice, besides great variety of fruits as apple, watermelons, papaya. The one that you will find strange is the milk, here the milk is processed by the system UHT that allows the packing to be out of the refrigerator without destroying. Many foreigners think that the milk is synthetic because it can be conserved out of the refrigerator while the packing be not opened.
