What are some of these cities main diferences? I do a lot of watersports like sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing too. Are the people in these different from eachother? I would appreciate a Brazilian perspective. Thank you

Hi, I am from Rio, there is not much of a difference, just different places and accents. The people are very friendly and warm. Although I have never been to Florianópolis I did have the pleasure to visit Porto Alegre. It is trully a beautiful place. I am sure you will like it….
Rio is a much more agitaded city, the beaches are to die for. There is lots to do here. I am sure you will enjoy yourself plenty.

I think that the best place for you would be Florianópolis, simply because Florianópolis is a island enclosed for several other islands and the aquatic sports are very practiced for there. Here in Rio de Janeiro the city is Very populous the beaches are always full of swimmers. And to practice aquatic sports here would be necessary you to go far to seek beaches less frequented by swimmers.
Morro das Pedra Florianópolis (Floripa) Santa Catarina.
