Tiwanaku is an important Pre-Columbian archaeological site in western Bolivia. It is recognized by Andean scholars as one of the most important precursors to the Inca Empire, flourishing as the ritual and administrative capital of a major state power for approximately five hundred years. The ruins of the ancient city state are near the south-eastern shore of Lake Titicaca in the La Paz Department, Ingavi Province, Tiwanaku Municipality, about 72 km (44 miles) west of La Paz.

Tiwanaku means DOOM OF THE moon. Puma punku = Door of the Puma. Titicaca means Puma the hunter. Andes comes from the word Antis Aymara word for copper. Kalasasaya is the door of the Moon believed to be the gate of an eclipse. Tiwanaku is about 27,000 yrs old and geoglyphs recently discovered.

ok how did they move 100 ton blocks… explain that. can we do it now? propably, but it would be expensive and inefficient
February 15th, 2012 at 9:50 am
I think that the big stones were interlocking and huge to keep dinosaurs out.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:36 am
And what did Spanish guys break apart 130 ton blocks with? a hammer?? yeah right…take your time guys. we got all the time in the world to break this up…what a joke
February 15th, 2012 at 11:21 am
i have seen the stone myself. those were not cut by ordinary tools. most likely advanced cutting tools were used. in some instances there are blocks of granite showing signs of melting in the place where the block was cut, suggesting some kind of lazer-beam technology. also the blocks are enormous. even with today’s technology we can not built something like tiwanaku. i suggest the structure at tiwanaku belong to civilization that existed long before humans appeared.

Modern Archeologist agree about the inkas used many Tiwanaku ruins in Peru to build their buildings; its is clear the differences and the level of cultures.
If Arthur Posnansky said Tiwanaku is “The Cradle of The Human Kind”, nobody trust him in his time; Agustin Editors of NY, force him to change the name of his books to “The Cradle of American Man”.
Posnansky found bases to say Tiwanaku is the oldest culture in the face of earth, is oldest than 15.000 years B.C.
Thanks again.

Thank you very much to upload this videos about Tiwanaku.
Let me tell you, Tiwanaku is thousands of years before any inka expression. Inkas are very close (no more than 600 years ago). Nothing to compare with Tiwanaku Culture, where anyone can find great technology and where scientists from many places of the world are ignorants about how the people of that city made and build those monuments.
No point to compare the “modern and decadent” inkas with any Tiwanaku’s expression.

Great Channel and I like the video for its historical content. The location and date of the ruins show us clearly that all civilization started in high mountain regions around the world.
