Question by Bernardo GB: traveling to huaraz, peru?
Im planning on backpacking to peru with my friends in june, and we were planning on going to Huaraz but we dont know what to do or if its worth it, we have a looot of time available but we have a limited budget so do you know what we can do once arriving there, like excursioning to the mountains or something; so any data is fine, like approximte prices or places to go, etc.

Hey, I am a travel writer and photographer and have been to Huaraz 5 times. The city itself is pretty shit, but the area around it is amazing for hiking and can be done quite cheap. You could do a 3 day trek for about 200 soles (80 dollars) which includes food and camping gear. There are also other things to do like rock climbing, ice climbing (depending on the season), horseback riding, mountain biking. It really is an outdoors mecca. If you want more info on Peru/south america check out my website which is listed in the sources

The Best Place to visit in Peru is Cusco because has differents places like:
VILCABAMBA: In the Manu Reserved Zone, we are fortunate to have a Manu almost intact, untouched by civilization, where we can still observe in the wild species in imminent danger of extinction such as the Giant Otter (Pteronura brasiliensis) , Black Caiman (Melanosuchus Niger), the majestic Jaguar (Pantera onca), the rare Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus), and other animals like Tapir, Ocelot, thirteen species of primates, and over a thousand species of birds including seven species Macaw.
