After Easter and before the end of May have good weather and it is not as crowded. June, July and August can get cold especially in Cuzco. Late September and early October would be another good time but it won’t be as green.

Late July or early August are best. Although it is not hot, it certainly isn’t cold or even cool for that matter. If you want to fully experience Machu Picchu you have to do a lot of walking so the cooler temperatures were actually quite nice. Since it is the off season it is not as busy as it usually is and fairly easy to find a guide. August is also very dry.
September/October are the worst months to go. Although Peru does not receive much precipitation, what little there is falls during these two months as September marks the beginning of the rainy season.
Whenever you decide to go I know you’ll have a great time, it truly is one of the most beautiful and remarkable places on earth.
