Which cities in Peru are warmer and sunnier than Miraflores and Lima?
Question by alli: Which cities in Peru are warmer and sunnier than Miraflores and Lima?
In Miraflores, do not like how almost all the days are cloudy in June. Which cities are warmer and sunnier that you can recommend…. Tried Huaraz, which was about 7 hours by bus from Lima and it is nice and sunny. Would Trujillo, Chiclayo, or others be sunnier and warmer and nicer for a tourist. Climate and safety are important…with many sunny days and warmth desired. However I heard that Piura is too miserably hot. Looking for some guidance on which cities or areas to visit or move to that are warm and sunny in Peru.

Trujillo and Chiclayo would be sunnier and warmer than Lima in June. I was there in July 1999 and they were much warmer. That being said, the closer you get to the ocean, the cooler it gets. The more into the interior the warmer it gets. This is similar to Southern California. These two cities are in a desert area. Also, there is plenty to do in this area,s o you would not be bored. There is Cajamarca, Chan Chan, Sipan and Tumbes to visit. Have fun.

Hi, I am from Chile and my family and me were in Peru three months ago. Was an amazing trip. Warmer and sunnies cities (all year) were Trujillo and Chiclayo. Their weather are between 17 and 23ºC…. that´s just great.
If you go to Peru, I suggest you to contact a good but cheap peruvian travel agency. The travel agency we tooked was Contunor and they served us so nice. Their web site is: http://www.contunor.com/promocionales.php?lang=en
Have a nice trip!

Well almost any city in the northern coast is warm year around. The northern the hotter, if you like try the jungle zone: Iquitos city, Pucallpa city or Tarapoto city (all are one hour by plane) they are all pretty warm and offer a change on the scenery.

I recommend Trujillo, and be sure to go a bit north to see the ruins of Chan Chan and pay the guide at the entrance. Then farther north is dryer and warmer – Tumbes being the extreme as a desert town with no vegetation.
Araquipa is very cool at night and slightly cool in the day at this (winter) season. All the mountains towns – Cusco etc – are cool Puno is real cool.
So go north of Lima along the cost. Chimbote stinks of fish much of the year.
And Piura is really nice and warm. don’t eat the strawberries!
